Frequently asked questions
Is Glutide medical advice?
What Glutide does
Glutide helps people taking a GLP-1 medication eat enough protein on a small appetite. You log meals by photo, by describing them, or by searching foods, and Glutide shows how much protein, fiber and water you have had against your daily targets.
Every nutrition number comes from USDA FoodData Central. When you log a photo, an AI model names the foods and estimates their weight, and each food is then matched to a USDA entry. You can check and change every amount before saving.
Glutide also records which medication you take (by brand, such as Zepbound® or Ozempic®, or compounded), how much, where and exactly when, along with side effects and weight. From that it shows which day after your dose side effects tend to hit, what they are and how bad, and whether stomach symptoms tend to follow higher-fat days.
What Glutide does not do. It does not give medical advice, suggest doses, or tell you when to take your medication. It is not a replacement for your care team, and it does not diagnose anything. Photo estimates are estimates; weighing food is always more accurate.
Logging your first meal
- On the Today tab, tap Log a meal.
- Choose how to log it: Take a photo, Choose a photo, Describe it (for example “3 oz salmon and half a cup of rice”), or Search foods.
- Photos and descriptions are analyzed in a few seconds. You then see each food, its matched USDA entry, and an estimated weight in grams.
- Adjust anything that looks wrong. Use the minus and plus buttons, type an exact weight, or tap ½ of that if you only ate part. Tap the USDA description under the food name to choose a different food.
- If Glutide asks whether the food was cooked in oil or butter, answer it. Hidden cooking fat is the biggest source of error in photo logging.
- Tap Save. The meal’s protein is added to your ring on the Today tab.
Your daily protein target was suggested during setup. Change it at any time in Settings, ideally to the number your care team recommends.
Privacy and your data
What stays on your phone. Your meals, doses, injection sites, side effects, weights, water and settings are stored only on this device. Glutide has no account and no sign-in, and it does not upload your log anywhere.
What leaves your phone. When you choose to analyze a photo or a written description, that one photo or description is sent to Glutide’s server and analyzed there by an AI model. It is used only to answer that request. It is not stored after the answer is returned, not used to train models, and not linked to your name.
What the server keeps. Each request carries a random install identifier, made on your phone and not tied to you. Against it the server keeps how many free analyses you have used and, if you subscribe, when your subscription ends. Daily request counts are kept for two days, and your IP address is never stored.
Searching foods never leaves your phone; the USDA database is built into the app.
No ads, no tracking. Glutide contains no advertising and no tracking or analytics SDKs.
To remove your log, delete the app. Because your log exists only on this device, deleting the app deletes it. The install identifier is kept in your phone’s keychain so free analyses are not reset by reinstalling; to have the server’s record of it deleted, contact us.
